Terms and conditions
Plain terms for a plain service: you upload a statement you are entitled to use, we turn it into a spreadsheet, and you check the figures before relying on them.
Who we are
These terms are an agreement between you and a company registered in Malta, which runs Bank Statement Converter ("BSC", "we", "us"). By using the site or buying a plan, you agree to these terms. If you use BSC for a company, you accept them on that company's behalf.
The service
BSC converts PDF bank statements into Excel and CSV files. Plans, page limits and features are listed on our Pricing page. We may improve, change or remove features. If a change takes away something important from a paid plan, we'll tell you first, and you can cancel.
Who can use BSC
You must be at least 16 to use BSC, and old enough to sign a contract where you live to buy a paid plan. Keep your sign-in details secure, because you're responsible for what happens in your account. On a Team plan, the account owner manages the members and is responsible for their use.
What you may upload
Upload only statements you're entitled to use: your own, or ones a client or employer has asked you to process. Don't upload anything unlawful or harmful, such as files built to attack the service.
If you upload statements for clients
When you upload statements that belong to someone else, you're the controller of the personal data in them, and we're your processor. We process those files only to convert them for you, delete them about an hour after upload, keep them confidential, use only the providers listed in our Privacy policy, and help you with data requests and security incidents as the GDPR requires. You confirm that you're allowed to share the statements with us.
Accuracy
The converter checks each row against the running balance where the statement prints one, but unusual layouts and poor scans can still cause errors. Check the figures before you rely on them. The output isn't financial, tax or legal advice.
Your files
Your statements and the spreadsheets made from them are yours. You give us only the right to process them so we can provide the service. Files are processed in the EU (Frankfurt) and deleted about an hour after upload, and we don't keep the converted table, so download what you need.
Plans and billing
Free use has a daily page limit, shown on our Pricing page. Daily limits reset at midnight UTC.
Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe, and renew automatically at the current price until you cancel. If a price changes, we tell you before your next renewal.
Page allowances reset on the 1st of every month, including on yearly plans, and unused pages don't roll over.
Prices are shown in US dollars, euros or pounds, depending on where you are. VAT or sales tax is added where your country requires it.
You can cancel anytime in your account. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
If a payment fails and isn't fixed, your account moves to the Free plan.
Refunds
If you ask within 14 days of a yearly payment, we refund it in full. Monthly plans aren't refundable, but you can cancel anytime. The details are in our Refund policy. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the consumer law where you live.
Fair use
Don't overload, probe, scrape or resell the service without our written agreement. We may block traffic that does.
Our intellectual property
The site, the software and the Bank Statement Converter name and logo belong to us. Don't copy, reverse engineer or resell them without our written agreement.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, with notice where that's reasonable. If we close a paid account for no fault of yours, we refund the unused part of your plan.
Availability and liability
We work to keep BSC available but can't guarantee it will always be. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we aren't liable for indirect losses or for decisions based on figures you didn't check. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we tell account holders by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Maltese law, and disputes go to the courts of Malta. If you're a consumer, you keep the protection of the law where you live and can bring a claim there.
